Celebrating our diverse and unique city.
• Bid to become UK City of Culture 2029, working with all our local
communities to highlight our amazing city and continuing to invest
in cultural events such as MK International Festival.
• Continue to celebrate our diverse city by supporting events such as
City of Codes and Light Festival and MK Pride.
• Protect green space and rural villages by providing certainly over
development plans for the next 25 years and beyond by agreeing a
new local plan and supporting the government’s New Town plans.
Stronger and safer communities.
• Tackle drug crime and anti-social behaviour by strengthening the
community safety team to better protect vulnerable council tenants.
• Reduce rough sleeping by 50% by 2028 for those with complex needs
such as drug, alcohol or mental health conditions using new Labour
government funding and bring partners together for a regular
Rough-sleeping Forum.
• Help residents remove unsafe cladding by using funds collected
from the building safety levy.
Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls.
• Continue our leading role as a White Ribbon City.
• Deliver a second domestic abuse refuge, nearly 50 years since the
昀椀rst refuge was built.
• Tackle online abuse by campaigning with our MPs and schools for a
zero-tolerance approach from police and social media companies
towards tackling sexism, misogyny and hate in public spaces and
online.
